Will TNA Impact be the real Must-See TV on Thursdays?

Date: Mon, 01 Oct 2007 00:05:29 -0800 This Thursday night is the night many wrestling fans already tired of the same old crap WWE's been stuffing down our throats have been waiting for. No, not the one-hour season premiere of the Emmy-winning "30 Rock", but the night when TNA Impact finally goes from one hour to two. Okay, they have done two-hour shows before, but this time, it's permanent. The show will still be at 9:00, which means TNA now has some HEAVY DUTY competition on the broadcast networks! Look at the shows they're up against: ABC: Grey's Anatomy/Big Shots CBS: CSI/Without A Trace NBC: The Office/Scrubs/ER The repeat will still be on Saturdays at 11:00, with the remaining 90 minutes now opposite "Saturday Night Live." You can sure bet Tivos and VCRs (for you old schoolers) will be busier than ever on Thursday nights. But I hope Spike TV doesn't take a page out of ABC's playbook when they told viewers to "Watch Our World and tape Cosby" in the '80s then "Watch Murder One and tape ER" in the '90s; both tricks didn't work. Now it could be "Watch Impact; Tivo Grey's" or "Watch Impact; Tivo CSI/Trace" or "Watch Impact; Tivo Office/Scrubs/ER", or for the Saturday repeat, "Watch Impact; Tivo SNL"! The possibilites are endless! But now that Impact's finally given the two-hour treatment they sorely deserved, it could mean more matches, more feuds...and storylines that DOESN'T involve a pint-sized wrestler as a leprechaun or a former wrestler who only likes to say "DAMN!" at the top of his lungs.
